Google Unveils Agentic AI Revolution: Gemini 3.5 Flash, Transformed Developer Tools, and a Shift to Subscription Services

Google’s latest AI event delivered a comprehensive overhaul of its artificial intelligence strategy, spotlighting the new Gemini 3.5 Flash model and a suite of agentic capabilities designed to permeate its vast product ecosystem. Gemini 3.5 Flash boasts substantial performance gains, reportedly up to four times faster than its predecessor, Gemini 3.1 Pro, and an impressive twelve-fold speed increase when integrated with Antigravity. This enhanced performance comes with a notable price increase for output tokens (up to $9 per million), positioning it closer to the cost of the Pro model and effectively tripling the cost compared to the prior Flash iteration. Complementing this, the introduction of Gemini Omni promises a truly multimodal experience, capable of generating diverse outputs from any input, and will integrate into products like Gemini App, Google Flow, and YouTube Shorts. For developers, Antigravity 2.0 undergoes a radical redesign, shifting from a traditional code editor to an agent-first user interface, complete with CLI and SDKs for building custom AI agents.
